PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN NORWICH

The Norwich school system is served by the Norwich School District which has approximately 3400 total students and maintains twelve public schools. Elementary school students attend at Island John M. Moriarty School (Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade), John B. Stanton School (Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade), Samuel Huntington Elementary School (Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade), Thomas W. Mahan Elementary School (Kindergarten to 5th grade), Uncas Elementary School (Kindergarten to 5th grade), Veterans Memorial Elementary School (Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade), or Wequonnoc Elementary School (Pre-Kindergarten to 4th grade). Student can also attend Integrated Day Charter School (Kindergarten to 8th grade) which is not a part of the Norwich school district. Middle school students attend Hickory Street School (2nd to 6th grade), Kelly Middle School (6th to 8th grade), or Teachers Memorial Middle School (6th to 8th grade). High school students attend Thames River Academy (9th to 12th grade), Deborah-Tennant Zinewicz School (8th to 12th grade), or Norwich Free Academy (9th to 12th grade) which is also an independent public school.
